Does your brand tell a story?

‘The best brands are built on great stories’ - Ian Rowden, Chief Marketing Officer, Virgin Group

Have you ever thought about the story of your brand?

A brand is built on it’s story, however the story is more than just narrative…

Your story is the foundation of your brand and a strategy for the future growth of your company.

A brand story is made up of colour, texture (for hard copy products), facts, feelings, interpretations and even the staff you employ. You can see from this list that some of these factors are out of your control, however you can influence them… for example you make a decision about the images you use on your website, this influences how people think about you as they can visualise your ideas, therefore impacting your brand story.

Why do you need to tell a story? Well if you don't, you blend into the background, with nothing to differentiate your company from competitors.

Here are a few things that work together to make a brand story:

Your brand vision - what is the ultimate goal of your company? How do you want to change the world?

Your brand values are also important, these are the core beliefs that influence every decision within your company.

Your brand promise. Tell your customers what you are going to do for them!

Lastly, your audience profile. You must take into account your audience, ask yourself how they would react to your decision. How have you changed their lives for the better?

Attitude Design has an excellent logical process for brand design, we research into your brand with you to see what your story is. We then design your brand so that it tells the story of you and your company.

Our motto at Attitude Design:

People buy into brands because of the why, not because of the what!
